Slovenia aims to become one of the best startup ecosystems in Europe within just over three years

Bloomberg Adria has published an article on the Slovenian startup ecosystem that we highly recommend reading.

Slovenia aims, with its new Startup Strategy 2030, to become one of the leading startup ecosystems in Europe. The strategy focuses on strengthening the support environment for startups, increasing access to venture capital, improving employee stock option schemes, attracting global talent, and introducing a more flexible legal entity structure.

The startup community emphasizes that favorable tax conditions for investors and effective stock option systems are crucial for success, as startups struggle to compete with large corporations on salary levels alone.

At the Slovenian Technology Forum, we welcome the adoption of this strategy as a significant step forward, but we note that the practical implementation of these measures will be the deciding factor. Director Barbara Krajnc emphasizes that the goal of ranking among the top European startup ecosystems is highly ambitious, making the swift and effective execution of the announced reforms essential.
